Parker 51 Red Band Recreation - Inizio

Dear friends of the forum, I wanted to continue this week with a story that few people know about a Parker 51 model, that existed as a transition between the Parker 51 Vacumatic and the Parker 51 Aerometric.
Its name was Parker 51 Red Band, and although it was a resounding failure for Parker, it coexisted for a time with the Parker 51 Vacumatic, also called Parker 51 Black Band...
We could say that the Parker 51 Red Band was the equivalent for Parker, of Windows Vista for Microsoft..., debut and farewell..., with one difference..., as there were so few that were manufactured, they made the Parker 51 Red Band a rare specimen of great value to collectors...
On the outside it had no major differences with the Parker 51 Vacumatic, only the button cover that was a little shorter, the red anodized aluminum guide, instead of black, and the cylindrical aluminum button with internal spring.
The barrel also had a small breathing hole that the 51 Vacumatic did not have.
But inside it was a different world... A giant ink sac had been placed, which was pressed by a mechanism in the form of a little leg, where the foot pressed the ink sac and the leg was articulated when forced by its introduction inside of the button or pulsating.
Thinking that perhaps this rare specimen would never pass through my hands here in Argentina, and that I had some pieces of Parker 51 left over that would otherwise have ended up in the garbage dump, I decided to get to work, and following the plans of Parker build a Parker 51 Red Band...
Among the pieces that I had, there was also an old cap, all tattered, battered and dented, without clip or jewel, which had belonged to a Parker 51 that my father used during his life for his studies and work.
So, reviving it in this construction seemed to me a beautiful way to pay tribute to its passage through this existential plane...
The rest was, a blue diamond clip, the aluminum guide of a vacumatic pushbutton, the internal parts of a cap, the adjustment ring on the cap, a grip with a complete feeder and nib, and a barrel of early Parker Aerometrics....
